Can you believe that it’s the end of the year already? Man, it’s so strange sometimes how time can just go by before you know it! Now that we’re almost in 2017 there are some things I’m very proud of this year:
- I graduated from college. (Man this was super hard, but I’m so glad that I was able to do it!)
- Write more. It’s been more fanfics than my original stories, I’m still going to count it though.
- I finally got a car and I can drive everywhere I want now. Though I still have to get better at it.
- Mended the relationship with my family. I’m really happy about this one I thought I would have to cut contact with them when I did.
- I even got a job! I had to quit though, but this showed me that I can get one.
Other than that I’ve been working more on my mental health. I think I’ve been doing much better with it too. I don’t get as anxious as I used to or as depressed either.
Overall 2016 is ending on a high note!
I hope that it’s ending on a high note for you too.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE
I hope that 2017 will be a good one for you too!
Hello! Sorry for being absent the past two weeks. I’ve been social, which left me little time to write. However, I’m free tonight and we can get right back on schedule! Before I begin with Mob Psycho 100 I have an exciting announcement to make.
One Punch Man WILL GET A SECOND SEASON! I’m so excited! I really enjoyed the first season of the anime and it had all my favorite seiyuu in it too. I’m looking forward to the second season coming out soon.
Now let’s talk about One’s other series Mob Psycho 100. One of my favorite things about this series is how Kageyama wants to use his powers to help. He knows he’s powerful, he knows that he could use his power to control others when he doesn’t. Kageyama wants to get through middle school and figure out his future like other kids his age, but he doesn’t get the chance to have the normal life he wants due to his psychic powers. What I really love about Kageyama, he doesn’t angst about them or blame them when something happens. He really doesn’t want to hurt anyone with them which is the reason behind why he has such a tight leash on his powers. He’s a great character among others in the series.
The characters in the series bring their own personality and powers which works well with Kageyama. The different variety of characters add their own flavor to the show and Kageyama’s life. There’s his teacher Aratake Reigen, who’s really a con man, that uses Kageyama’s powers without him knowing it. While he does try to pass off Kageyama’s powers as his own he’s a nice guy that does care about him and gives him advice if Kageyama needs it. Another character that stands out is Ritsu, Kageyama’s little brother, who hides his own problems from his sweet older brother. However, I have to admit that one of my favorite characters have to be Musashi Goda, the leader of the Body Improvement Club, that Kageyama joins. Musashi and the other members of the club are so cute! They help Kageyama try to improve himself, helps him save the previous club, and encourages him so much. They even help other people in the school too. I’m happy that Kageyama has people like that on his side.
Along with the characters, the story line adds an additional charm to the show. Each episode has the countdown of how far Kageyama’s has to go before his powers explode due to the stress he goes through during his day. It can relate to what happened earlier in the episode or the series that comes back in another episode, so it makes it easier to remember people that have been introduced from before. Those people have a way of tying in to the overall storyline of Kageyama trying to be a normal middle schooler, but it doesn’t shy away from issues faced in middle school like peer pressure or the stress of figuring out the future. The story lines might come off as simple of the surface, but it becomes bigger when something happens that will lead into another episode or reveal something new about a character.
It’s little things like that which makes Mob Psycho 100 a very enjoyable show. If you have the time check it out!
Hello everyone! Man September got here before I know it! I was busy trying my hand at this adulting thing so that’s why my updates are sporadic again. It’s funny that this is my first year where I don’t have to register for classes. I’ve been doing it for so long that I nearly forgot that I didn’t have to do it anymore. I also became a driver which scares me a bit because this is my first time driving, but I’m getting the hang of it.
So let’s see I missed last month when it came to goals. I’m trying to figure out what to do while I’m job searching since there are some things I have to pay for now. I’m trying to get back into writing I miss writing my serials and I have so many ideas for them. I hated to go on hiatus for so long due to school and then trying to figure out what I was going to do next with my life. So I’m going to work harder to either get a chapter out or at least a drabble or something related to my serials. For now I’ll talk about the shows I’m going to touch on next Friday.
Next Friday I’m going to talk about Kyoukai no Rin-ne or Rinne of the Boundary, a new show from Inuyasha’s mangaka Rumiko Takahashi.
See you next week!
Hello! We’re back with Fan Fridays! This Friday I’m going to talk about one of the shows I started watching called Sakamoto desu ga? Or Haven’t you Heard? I’m Sakamoto. This show takes the trope of the super cool guy, but instead of subverting it it’s played straight. The main character of the show is called Sakamoto, though no one knows his first name, he’s the coolest freshman in his school. He may do mundane things such as cleaning up, homework, or tutoring, but he does them in such a cool way that people can’t help falling for him. Today I’m going to talk about three things that I love about Sakamoto.
The first thing I love about Sakamoto is the way he solves his problems. He solves his problems in a very cool way, yet he doesn’t make a fool of himself. It could be from putting out a fire that one of his bullies started or helping out a classmate or confronting a bully he figures out a way out of it by using his secret moves that in the end he still looks cool. Sometimes it’s really cool to have a character that does things in their own way and it works for them. Then there’s the way he looks very good while doing all these things. I’m not going to sugarcoat it I really do enjoy the fanservice in this show. I always want to see how cool he can be the next time he has to do something.
The second thing that I love about Sakamoto is the way the show treats Atsushi’s crush. Atsushi, one of his former bullies, has a crush on Sakamoto after he saved him from a fire that Atsushi accidentally started. After that Atsushi’s crush on Sakamoto becomes very obvious, but one of the cute things about this is the way that it’s treated naturally by his friends. His friends encourages him to talk to Sakamoto even told him to ask for a smile when Sakamoto worked at his part time job. I worried that his friends would either tease him in a mean way or try to leave him when they didn’t! Nothing makes me happier than that.
The third thing I love about Sakamoto is his friendship with his classmate Kubota. Kubota used to be bullied for his allowance when Sakamoto came in and helped him gain his confidence. He started by getting Kubota a job from there he showed him that he was able to do things when he thought he couldn’t at first. In the end Kubota learned how to fight back for the things that he’s worked for so hard. It was very sweet the way that Sakamoto helped him figure out his worth by being his cool self. They end up becoming friends and their friendship is very sweet.
I highly recommend Sakamoto desu ga for some laughs, a very handsome guy, and a cool soundtrack.
I want that soundtrack very much.
