Happy New Year everyone!

Can you believe that it’s the end of the year already? Man, it’s so strange sometimes how time can just go by before you know it! Now that we’re almost in 2017 there are some things I’m very proud of this year:

  • I graduated from college. (Man this was super hard, but I’m so glad that I was able to do it!)
  • Write more. It’s been more fanfics than my original stories, I’m still going to count it though.
  • I finally got a car and I can drive everywhere I want now. Though I still have to get better at it.
  • Mended the relationship with my family. I’m really happy about this one I thought I would have to cut contact with them when I did.
  • I even got a job! I had to quit though, but this showed me that I can get one.

Other than that I’ve been working more on my mental health. I think I’ve been doing much better with it too. I don’t get as anxious as I used to or as depressed either.

Overall 2016 is ending on a high note!

I hope that it’s ending on a high note for you too.

I hope that 2017 will be a good one for you too!

Fiction: Gift or Curse

Hello! We’re back with another end of month fiction piece! This one is from the same universe as New Home and Second Chances Hospital, this focuses on Sam. He’s a human that has the power to see faeries and talk with them too. I’m going to write more about him and his life a bit later, but for now I’m going to post a piece about Sam talking about his gift. He doesn’t really have a problem with it and I can’t wait to explore more about his life and how faeries play out in it. Enjoy!

Psychic Power: My new love for Mob Psycho 100

Hello! Sorry for being absent the past two weeks. I’ve been social, which left me little time to write. However, I’m free tonight and we can get right back on schedule! Before I begin with Mob Psycho 100 I have an exciting announcement to make.

One Punch Man WILL GET A SECOND SEASON! I’m so excited! I really enjoyed the first season of the anime and it had all my favorite seiyuu in it too. I’m looking forward to the second season coming out soon.

Now let’s talk about One’s other series Mob Psycho 100. One of my favorite things about this series is how Kageyama wants to use his powers to help. He knows he’s powerful, he knows that he could use his power to control others when he doesn’t. Kageyama wants to get through middle school and figure out his future like other kids his age, but he doesn’t get the chance to have the normal life he wants due to his psychic powers. What I really love about Kageyama, he doesn’t angst about them or blame them when something happens. He really doesn’t want to hurt anyone with them which is the reason behind why he has such a tight leash on his powers. He’s a great character among others in the series.

The characters in the series bring their own personality and powers which works well with Kageyama. The different variety of characters add their own flavor to the show and Kageyama’s life. There’s his teacher Aratake Reigen, who’s really a con man, that uses Kageyama’s powers without him knowing it. While he does try to pass off Kageyama’s powers as his own he’s a nice guy that does care about him and gives him advice if Kageyama needs it. Another character that stands out is Ritsu, Kageyama’s little brother, who hides his own problems from his sweet older brother. However, I have to admit that one of my favorite characters have to be Musashi Goda, the leader of the Body Improvement Club, that Kageyama joins. Musashi and the other members of the club are so cute! They help Kageyama try to improve himself, helps him save the previous club, and encourages him so much. They even help other people in the school too. I’m happy that Kageyama has people like that on his side.

Along with the characters, the story line adds an additional charm to the show. Each episode has the countdown of how far Kageyama’s has to go before his powers explode due to the stress he goes through during his day. It can relate to what happened earlier in the episode or the series that comes back in another episode, so it makes it easier to remember people that have been introduced from before. Those people have a way of tying in to the overall storyline of Kageyama trying to be a normal middle schooler, but it doesn’t shy away from issues faced in middle school like peer pressure or the stress of figuring out the future. The story lines might come off as simple of the surface, but it becomes bigger when something happens that will lead into another episode or reveal something new about a character.

It’s little things like that which makes Mob Psycho 100 a very enjoyable show. If you have the time check it out!

Fiction Post: Beginnings

6882092-men-holding-the-word-fiction-concept-3d-illustrationI did it! I finally got around to finishing this before the end of the month! I gave myself a goal to finish this and post it on the last day of the month and I did! I’m doing little pieces like this to get back into writing for New Home. This is when Will met Hamilton when they were children. I hope it sheds a little more light to why it hurt Will so much after what happened. It feels really good to post again. Enjoy!

Preview of Psychic Power: My new love for Mob Psycho 100

Hello! We’re back with a new show that I’ve been watching. The show is called Mob Psycho 100, it’s about a young man called Shigeo Kageyama who has psychic powers, but he doesn’t want to use them very much. He knows how dangerous they can be so he tries to keep his emotions on a very tight leash. However, when he becomes very emotional his powers come out. He does try his best to keep it under control despite the different stresses in his life. Kageyama has a part time job where he works with Arataka Reigen, who fools people into thinking that he’s the powerful psychic, but cares a lot about Mob. This show is created by ONE the same mangaka that did One Punch Man, so I really looked forward to watching it. If anyone wonders why the art looks different Yusuke Murata, the mangaka from Eyeshield 21 did the art. I like ONE’s style though and I enjoy the story too.

Due to me not keeping up with my schedule I’m going to post a small summary about Mob Psycho 100. Next week I’m going to talk about how much I love this show.

Until then, see you!

Play Ball: Diamond no Ace Chapter 2 (read through and thoughts)

Hello everyone! I’m back with my Daiya read through! Sorry for taking so long to update this, but I’m hoping to try and get myself on an updating schedule that I can use. Alright so when we last left off our sweet protagonist Eijun Sawamura has been introduced to the amazing baseball school Seidou and is going to face the almost pro player Azuma Kiyokuni with troublemaker Miyuki as his catcher. Now let’s begin chapter two!

-The chapter starts out with the recap of what happened in last one with Eijun getting ready for his match with Azuma with Miyuki as his catcher. It’s nice to see that despite his earlier bravado he’s still a bit nervous about pitching. It’s so cute to see.

-I really enjoy the way Miyuki riles Azuma up, but goes over to help Eijun when he gets nervous. I feel like Miyuki knows more about everything than what he’s letting on.

-It was cool to see the way Eijun could switch his play in mid swing. He already has a good eye on how he plays even though he hasn’t had any proper training yet. I know it’s to give Eijun room to grow, but I still like being able to see him that he has more to learn.

-I know Miyuki likes to joke as a way to help calm Eijun down and that’s something I really like about him. I like how he’s a jokester, but he wants Eijun to do his best. It’s like he’s helping Eijun get over his nerves, though in his own way. It’s sweet to see that he’s doing it in his own way and he can see Azuma come down too. Another plus for Miyuki.

-In his own way Miyuki showed Eijun that he doesn’t have to try and come up with the plays all on his own. I think because Eijun spent so much time focusing on his old team that he didn’t focus on himself. I only started, but Eijun looks like the type of character to care more about everyone around him instead of himself. While in turn Miyuki probably cares more about himself with little people he cares about here and there.

-After Miyuki talked to him, Eijun found another strength he has. He also learned something new in the process.

-Eijun’s face when Miyuki calls him partner will always be the cutest. It’s almost as if he hasn’t had a partner before and now he has one with this pitcher he just met. Then he gets upset afterwards and it’s one of the many reasons why I love Eijun.

-The match continues on with Eijun learning how to throw different balls to throw off Azuma. Each time he throws one Azuma can’t hit it. The look on Miyuki and Rei’s faces were great. They’re going to really support Eijun in the future I can tell.

-During the match Eijun and Miyuki starts using signals to each other. Eijun is starting to trust Miyuki little by little in this match even though he didn’t like him very much at first. I think that’s going to happen a lot between them.

-It’s only his first unofficial match, but Eijun’s potential is coming through. His special move might be a fastball since it looked like that was something he subconsciously held back due to the members of his previous team. He didn’t want to overshadow them. Eijun continues to be very sweet.

-I like that Rei could see his potential and knew he would be a good fit for Seidou. She continues to be very awesome to me, especially with the way she describes how Eijun didn’t know he had the potential to be great, until his last match when it came out by accident. I hope we can still see her in the future.

-When Eijun figured out his own pitch and the amazing face he made was very cute. I know I mentioned it a lot in this review, but he’s a very cute protagonist.

-It was nice to see Eijun’s confidence once he knew Miyuki had his back. He was able to throw his pitch much better than the first time around.

-In the end he won his match and learned something new about the skill that stayed dormant in him. Between Rei and Miyuki it finally came out. It can only grow from there.

-However, now Eijun has to make the tough decision about telling his friends that he won’t be going to school with them. It’s going to be a very hard thing to tell them.

-While Rei didn’t push him to go to Seidou, she pretty much knows what his decision is going to be. Something that will happen next chapter.

I’m really starting to enjoy the series. I’m looking forward to reading about Eijun and Miyuki’s growth together as a team.

Next chapter starts Eijun’s next chapter.

See you then!
