Questions and a poll!

So I’m looking through my serial and it’s currently on hiatus because I’m figuring out a bunch of other stuff for it, but I’m wondering if it’s wrong to try and change my idea. New Home will be the same, but the alternative idea I have for it is:

a) Cass heals Will in the apartment above the coffeeshop which will lead into more romantic scenes between them because this is suppose to be a romance, but it feels like I’m straying from it a bit.

b) Keep it the same and continue going on the same way it is because eventually they’ll meet again and will work with each other etc.,

Thanks for the input! One of the great things I’ve learned about writing a serial is having the input of the audience that reads it so it can be an enjoyable experience for both of us!

New Home: Chapter 12 part 2

Here we go with part 2. Next week it’s back to Cassandra. 🙂

Will rubbed his side with his claws as pieces of the fight came back to him. Their argument in the meeting room of the town hall ended up outside. Hamilton knocked him to the ground and tried to rip his throat out, but Will kicked him back before he got the chance. There was something shiny around Hamilton’s claws, but he couldn’t focus on it, he had to avoid the kick to his stomach and the teeth to his neck. However, he noticed there was something different about Hamilton that day.

Hamilton was one of their best fighters, being pack leader he had to be, but there was something different about his form. Hamilton jerked back up whenever Will knocked him back to the ground. He clawed his chest, but Hamilton didn’t flinch. He fought like he couldn’t feel pain. It was one of the many things Will couldn’t get out of his mind.

What was on his fingers?

Was his side still bleeding?

Will messed with the corner of his hospital gown as he saw the bandages on his arm out the corner of his eye. He touched his arm and closed his eyes as he thought back to that day. Hamilton knocked him to the ground and grabbed his arm to pull him up the ground. He dropped him after he bit his hand. He fell to the ground and hit his head hard enough it dazed him. He staggered up when Hamilton clawed his side and he nearly passed out from the pain. Will summoned enough strength to kick Hamilton towards the doors before he got out of there.

Will opened his eyes and placed his hand on the back of his head.

I must have gotten a concussion that’s why I don’t remember what happened to my arm. Are there more injuries I don’t know about? I’m sure there is. Will rubbed the bandages on his arm again. He didn’t like the idea of Hamilton having a spell that could slow down their healing. He didn’t know if he had any other spells or something worst. Where did he get the spells? Who taught him?

Will groaned as he rested his head against the pillow. He may have been Hamilton’s second in command, but he couldn’t go along with that plan. Werewolves barely had their territory between the Earth Demon and Wind Demon cities in Coven. Will couldn’t see an outcome that didn’t end with blood being shed or banned from the council. He hoped he made the right decision when he left.

Will swallowed the lump in his throat as he closed his eyes and tried to get some sleep.

New Home: Chapter 12 part 1

Another small chapter today. As always with these will be visiting Will again next week.

Will rubbed his side as he thought about the doctor’s words. He knew something was up the night after the fight. He changed into his wolf form to heal faster, but it didn’t work. He tried not to panic so he swiped some bandages and ointment from his home before he left and hoped for the best. He didn’t have time to think too much about why he wasn’t healing. If anyone from his pack found him, he would have something worse to deal with.

Will sighed as he leaned back against the pillow. It wasn’t a good decision to challenge him, but I couldn’t stay quiet. Trying to take over other places when we barely have an area of our own is ridiculous. Still, what did he hit me with? He bit his lip as he tried to think about the fight.

P.O.V: Which one do you like?

My favorite point of view to write in is third person. I’m trying to write in first person and I don’t know why, but it’s really hard for me to write in that point of view. I’m thinking of changing it around a bit, but I guess it’s good to try something new. First person is really hard for me and I think part of the reason is because I’m nosy so I want to know everything that’s happening in my world and I want to let everyone in on it too.

I love that third person let you explore more thoughts about the characters and can explore the area more. When I write in first person I try to separate the voices and it’s harder than I thought. Everything sounds so similar in my head that when I write it down it sounds the same to me. I know I need more practice with it, but third person will always be my favorite. Second person isn’t too bad, but it still feels a bit limiting to me.

I like reading third person more than first, but only for a few books.

How about you guys? What’s your favorite P.O.V.

New Home: Chapter 11

Cassandra stretched her arms above her head as she took a seat in her office. After he talk with Robert, she returned to her office to go through her Monday routine of checking everything in the office. She had to go over the invoices, check inventory, and make sure that all the orders she placed were on their way without any trouble.

She reached in her desk, pulled out the clipboard with the weekly schedule, and placed it on her desk. The other thing she had to do was find a place to put will. She still hadn’t found a place for him and she needed to know where he could go. Cassandra pulled out a sticky note and wrote a quick note to herself before she picked up the phone to call her vendors.

While she waited, a soft knock sounded on her door.

“Come in,” Cassandra said with her hand over the receiver of the phone.

Eve walked in with a small wave. “Um, Cass…”

“One minute Eve. Yes, this is Cassandra Hawkins, I’m checking to make sure that my coffee will be here this evening. Yes, I’ll be here at eight o’clock, but I put in the order for eight in the morning. Why did the time change? Oh, yes, that’s right the holiday. Yes, I’ll be here, thank you goodbye.” Cassandra sighed as she hung up the phone. “I forgot all about the Earth Demon holiday so all our orders are coming in the evening through the vampire shift. Anyway, what’s up?”

“Claudia called she won’t be able to make it tonight.”

“What!? I told her that Krista couldn’t stay tonight. Don’t Amelia’s classes start tonight too?”

“They do, but she said she has an emergency so she can’t make it.”

“The last time she had an emergency it was a fight with her boyfriend.” Cassandra groaned and rubbed the bridge of her nose. “Is there anyone else who can’t be here this evening?”

Eve nodded. “Steven called he has to go back home for a family emergency.”

Cassandra moved her hand away from her face. “Is everything alright?”

Eve shook her head. “His dad took a turn for the worse. He said he’ll be out for a bit longer than expected.”

“Well, he did tell me but, I would have liked if he took off earlier in the week instead of a few hours before his shift. Is everyone else on board for the evening?”

Eve nodded. “Yes, but we’re having a few problems with the espresso machine.”

“Amelia didn’t use her magic to try and fix it again, did she?”

“No, but the button is stuck again. We can’t press it and we have to move it around in order for it to work.”

“Okay, I’ll put the order in for a new machine today. Is there anything else?”

“No, not for the coffee shop, is everything alright in the tarot end?”

“Besides my cards getting restless for a reading, everything is working out here. Did you take your break yet?”

Eve shook her head. “I was going to, but Krista has to leave soon.”

“Go take your break. I’ll go and work the front.”

Eve bit her lip as her wings fluttered a bit behind her. “Are you sure?”

Cassandra flashed a reassuring smile. “I’m sure, go take your break.”

Eve smiled. “Thank you! I won’t take long.”

“As long as you don’t take more than ten minutes, I’ll be fine.”

Eve nodded. “I won’t, don’t worry.” She flashed another smile on her way out the room. Cassandra sighed when the door closed. Lately, it seemed everywhere she turned things broke and people had emergencies. However, there were a few exceptions like Steve. She knew about his situation and let everyone know about the shift change. Claudia on the other hand was on her third no show for the week. Cassandra had to call a meeting with Krista, Amelia, and Robert about their future with Claudia.

Cassandra took a breath to calm down. It wouldn’t help if she let things get her before the end of her shift. She placed the order in for a new espresso machine, then wrote down the changes on the schedule and placed a sticky note reminder to check the inventory and have Robert look over the invoices with her. She did a once over on her checklist and nodded when everything seemed to be in place.

Cassandra cleaned off her desk, locked all her papers and clipboard away, and grabbed her apron. Despite the things that went wrong at least she found a place for Will. She had more than enough room for him. Cassandra pushed the weird thought of working with Will aside as she tied the apron on and pulled her hair back on her way out the room.

She hoped many people didn’t want espresso tonight.

My family lives inside my head

I have a family that lives inside my head
A mom that actually says she loves her kids
A dad who took care of himself
A brother who respects everyone
Another brother who tries not to hide
A daughter who can come home everyday and tell them about her day without having their opinions shoved down her throat
A daughter who can say she wants to date out of her race and not be called a traitor or a hater of her own skin
A daughter who can have gay friends without her family calling them fags in front of her
A daughter who can feel like being female is alright and that her family wouldn’t accept her better if she was a male
A daughter who wouldn’t have to look through a window to see how a real family is
I have a family that lives inside my head
They’re beautiful, kind, and respect each other
The only bad thing
They live inside my head
They come out through stories about boy wizards and demons and a necromancer who has a lovely family with his husband
They come out through computer games where making the perfect family is possible
I know because that’s the only way I’ll see this family
This family where a daughter could feel like she belongs
I have a family that lives inside my head
A family I wish I was apart of

I love Halloween it’s one of my favorite times of year! I can do my nails black, dress up, and eat candy or other sweets in the name of the holiday! It’s no surprise that I like the paranormal like vampires, magic, and the like. It always interested me to think that there was another world outside of ours where everything was different, but the same in some ways.

I love the spookiness of Halloween. The ghosts, ghouls, and things that bump in the night! Next to Thanksgiving, Christmas, and my birthday it’s my favorite time of year!
Do you all like Halloween or another holiday?
